Dehydrated sorbitol fatty acid esters are also known as sorbitan fatty acid esters, which can be applied to oil-soluble liquid or waxy series of compounds in food, medicine, cosmetics, textile industry, etc. They are oil-in-water(W/O) type emulsifiers that are biodegradable, non-toxic, and odourless.
Sorbitan fatty acid esters produced by Huana have a great variety of specifications. The emulsification properties of our sorbitan fatty acid are compatible with other types of surfactants. Sorbitan monolaurate can be soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, and insoluble in cold water. It can be dispersed in hot water. As a food additive, it has an emulsification and defoaming function. Sorbitan monolaurate can be used as an emulsifier in medicine and cosmetics. Meanwhile, it can be also used as an emulsifier and wetting agent in textile industry.
Sorbitan monopalmitate can be dispersed in hot water and soluble in hot ethanol, benzene, and slightly soluble in liquid paraffin. It can be used as a stabilizer, thickening agent, lubricant, softener, finishing agent in food, medicine, cosmetics, textile production. Also, sorbitan monopalmitate can be used as printing ink dispersant, emulsion polymerization stabilizer and oil field emulsifier.
Sorbitan monostearate can be soluble in hot ethanol, benzene and chlorinated organic solvent, slightly soluble in diethyl ether and petroleum ether. It can be dispersed in hot water. As a food additive, it plays a role of water retention in yeast. It can maintain and improve the stability of oil and water dispersion in protein drinks, cream, cakes, bread, chocolate, ice cream and other products. It can be used as emulsion stabilizer, emulsifier and dispersant in cosmetics, medicine, feed, paint, textile and other industries.
Sorbitan tristearate can be dispersed in petroleum ether, mineral oil and vegetable oil, hardly soluble in toluene(methylbenzene)and ethyl acetate, and insoluble in water. As a food additive, it can reduce turbidity point of vegetable oil with high saturated acid content. It can be used for chocolate, margarine to improve, etc. to improve its fat crystal and stable crystal structure. Sorbitan tristearate can be used as an emulsifier in medicine and cosmetics, and as a lubricant in textile industry.
Sorbitan monooleate can be soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate, petroleum ether, and mineral oil, and most vegetable oil, but insoluble in water. It can be used as a grease emulsifier in food, as a dispersant in painting, as a lubricant in textile, as an emulsifier in metalworking, petroleum drilling and weighted mud, as an emulsion explosive, also as an emulsifier in pesticide, medicine, cosmetics, feed additives and other industries.
Sorbitan sesquioleate can be soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate, petroleum ether, but insoluble in water. It can be used as an emulsifier in cosmetics and emulsion explosives. And it can be used as an emulsifier, a softener, an antistatic agent in textile and paint industry.
Sorbitan trioleate can be soluble in mineral oil and vegetable oil, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in water. You can find the sorbitan trioleate uses in medicine, cosmetics, textile, paint, oil extraction and other industries.
